There are a lot of things in life that come and go, but true friendships aren’t one of them.
I’ve known Louie Hopkins since we were about 12 years old. We grew up together, did life together, and to this day, we still talk almost daily—or at least several times a week. That kind of friendship doesn’t happen by accident. It’s built over time, just like anything meaningful.
And that’s probably why I’ve always respected what Louie has built—not just as a businessman, but as a person.
Today, Louie Hopkins is one of the most respected residential home builders in the state of South Carolina. Not only has he led his local Home Builders Association, but he also served as President of the South Carolina Home Builders Association—an accomplishment that speaks volumes about the respect he’s earned across the industry. His reputation isn’t just about success—it’s about consistency, leadership, and doing things the right way.
But what a lot of people may not know is where it all started.
Louie is a second-generation builder, and his dad, Mr. Steve Hopkins, played a big role not only in his life—but in mine as well. I remember watching Mr. Steve run his business years ago and thinking, “Man, I’d love to do something like that one day.” The way he treated people, the respect he showed others, and the consistency he brought every single day—it stuck with me.
Truth is, Mr. Steve helped give me the ambition to step into real estate myself. At the time, I never imagined I’d one day become a managing partner of a brokerage here in Oklahoma, alongside Wyatt Poindexter at The Agency Oklahoma. But looking back, those early influences matter more than we realize.
That’s why this business has always been more than just buying and selling homes to me.
It’s about people. It’s about relationships. It’s about trust.
When I see what Louie has built in South Carolina, I don’t just see a successful company—I see years of hard work, strong values, and a foundation that started long before any home was ever built.
In real estate, we talk a lot about quality construction, design, and market value—and those things absolutely matter. But behind every great home is a builder who cares. Someone who takes pride in what they’re creating for families.
That’s who Louie is.
And for me, it’s pretty special to be able to say that one of the best builders in South Carolina isn’t just someone I respect professionally—but someone I’ve called a friend for most of my life.
Louie, thanks for being a friend—and I just want you to know that I am proud of you, man.
Because at the end of the day, homes are built with more than just brick and mortar.
They’re built on relationships.
If you’re looking to buy a new construction home in the Oklahoma City Metro or Tulsa area, I know several builders here that I can help you get connected with. If you want a custom home built in the Pee Dee area of South Carolina—or even around the beach areas—feel free to reach out to me. I’d be glad to personally connect you with Louie and Hopkins Builders.
